Greetings to our supporters!
Look for us at Thorntonfest. Tomorrow, Saturday, May 19th is the city of Thornton’s annual Thorntonfest at the recreation center multipurpose fields from 10:00am to 5:00pm. This is the city’s largest festival and is a great time for the whole family. We will have our own tent set up in the “marketplace” along the south side of the field. Be sure to stop by and say hi and learn more about the project!
Join Us on Memorial Day. Monday, May 28th is Memorial Day and we would like to invite everyone to join us at Olinger Highland Mortuary at I-25 and 104th Avenue. Olinger will be hosting their 47th Annual Memorial Day Service at 10 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2007. The service will include choir music by New Star Entertainment, bagpiper Scott Beach and an Honor Guard and Wreath Ceremony conducted by VFW Post #7945, American Legion Post #22 and Ladies Auxiliary. A dove release will conclude the ceremony. Refreshments will be served. Fresh flowers will be available for purchase Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day weekend. The Thornton Veterans Memorial Foundation will be there and we ask all of our supporters to please take the time to join us and honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for this nation – it is the least we can do!
Make a contribution or shop online! We have setup an online donation system - contributions of any size are appreciated! We also sell a wide variety of Thornton Veterans Memorial merchandise, the proceeds of which all go for the memorial. Also do not forget the paver bricks! These 4" X 8" and 8" X 8" paver bricks can be purchased and engraved with a message from a citizen or veteran and will be used to make up the walkways at the memorial. They will serve as a perpetual reminder of how much the contributions of veterans meant to this country and the city. These bricks are a great way to say thank you to our veterans and are a great gift idea as well. To get started, simply go to our website and click on the “Online Store” link. We need your support!

The next TVMF meeting will be Monday, June 4, 2007 at 7:00pm. Public attendance is welcome and encouraged! We are dependent on the community to help us make this memorial a reality.
